After completing intermediate in Pakistan every students aim to get a government university which is top in rankings. But if someone fails to get the desired marks and percentage or won’t be able to pass the entrance exam of the government university in Pakistan then the only option remaining is to apply in a private sector university. Now a days affording a private university in Pakistan is little harder, especially for middle and lower middle class families.

Watch the video below how I got admission in Bahria University Karachi and passed my BE (bachelors of engineering) with good CGPA:

So in order to get admission into a private sector university in any field of your interest the very first thing is to pass the entrance exam and after a basic introduction interview which is just a minor thing and not that hard also the entrance exam is very easy as compared to the government sector university and National Testing Service NTS exam. Once the student is able to pass the exam and interview, the next step is that university will call the student that his/her admission into the university is final and now he/she able to secured the seat by paying admission fee.

Now the admission fee is too high for any middle class income student that is minimum 1 lac to 2 lac or more rupees in Pakistan. Now what can a student do in order to get his/her admission fee paid???

The answer is yes, by applying for QARZ-E-HASNA (interest fee loan) from university.

Check the university website for details.

There are certain requirements for this loan from the university side which is an interview with the board members. Comprising of 3 to 4 members from university committee (depends on university).

Now they will ask you the details why you want to get this loans (so make sure to prepare yourself for that questions ) and they will also ask you to prove your income by having your electricity and gas bills plus your parents/guardian 6 months income statement from bank. (So bring those documents with yourself as well). If you are able to get this loan successfully now your seat is finally be yours.

Now the period to repay this loan is depending on the university, in my case it is for two semesters that is for 1 year. After that when I completes my first semester now this the time to pay my second semester fee which is also too high so in order to pay your second semester fee you need to get financial assistance scholarship by applying for it in your first semester. Financial assistance is a type educational fund provided by the university to students in order to afford semester fee.

In my case for Financial assistance I had to maintain a GPA of minimum 2.7 in order to avail this assistance till last semester or else it will be cancelled (if I got less than 2.7). So I always work hard and got gpa above 3 which is not a big deal for many students.

Apart from Financial assistance you can also avail scholarships from outside of the university from private companies and from government departments as well.

In order to apply for private companies scholarship programs you have to check details and apply on their website. Companies like DAALDA, Unilever and Toyota offers scholarships every year to the needy students.

If your parents are employed in forces or federal government employee than you can also avail funds from “Federal employees benevolent fund”. For that your parents needs to fill a form available on Federal employees benevolent fund website’s down load section and fill it up and signed it with the head of the department with stamp after that submit it to the respective address. And you will easily get the semester amount for each and every semester at your door step once it is approved. (which is not that Hard)

The procedure is same for parents who are employed in SINDH government but they have to apply for “SINDH EMPLOYEES BENEVOLENT FUND”. Funds for children education.

For government side scholarships:

Apply for HEC needbase scholarship:

You have to fill a form for it (download it from HEC website) and after filling it signed it with your university focal person and submit it to the focal person. Now focal person will review it and send it to the HEC department. Once it is approved you will get your desired amount from HEC for sure. (You can apply for 2 to 3  lacs as well) depending on your semester fee.

There are also many more government sector scholarships such PEEF (Punjab educational fund) and many more. So make sure to apply for each and every scholarship. And my wish for all of you that you will get succeed in your life.
